A text investigating the varying approaches, from European to Far Eastern, in the representation (and lack) of shadows. To understand and hypothesize the symbolic reasoning for the differing approaches to the representation of shadows, and additional themes such as; darkness, void, omnipresent spectators, and the representation of time. Proposing that both forms of representation pose their own inherent eerie allure.
